Title Architectural Survey 1981

Description Survey provided incentive for start of OHS in same year, under Ethel Turner. Survey was for all Oxford Co. towns, resulted in eventual publication of Randall Bennett's book, Oxford County, Maine: A Guide to Its Historic Architecture (Bethel, 1984). Original plan was to publish one such volume for each county, but funding ran out after only 2 counties were done. Some of the town's oldest houses aren't included in survey, for reasons unknown. But information here is invaluable. Survey sheets have been updated over the years and now include house numbers for identification.
